Understanding Christianity training - LAST CHANCE TO BOOK. For Headteachers and RE subject leaders - WILTON
Exciting new resources and training for teaching Christianity KS1 –KS3
Course content
During this training the Christianity Project materials will be launched. Now entitled Understanding Christianity: Text Impact Connections, it offers an approach to teaching and learning about Christianity, with units and supporting resources from EYFS to Y9.
The training provides an introduction and overview of the project, including outcomes, teaching approach, classroom ideas and extensive resources. This is essential training for all Church schools across the Diocese – this one day conference to introduce the main aspects of the Understanding Christianity materials followed by further in depth modules of training throughout the academic year. You will need to attend all of the sessions (1 day, 2 x half days) to complete the 15 hours of training required for this resource. You will receive a free resource pack as a part of the day conference.
Intended outcomes
You will be familiar with ‘The Understanding Christianity project’ which will:
Set the bar for the quality of teaching and learning about Christianity in church schools
You will understand how the core concepts of Christianity can be explored in a progressive way through an enquiry approach that engages with Biblical text and helps develop religious and theological literacy
You will be better prepared for aspects of the SIAMS inspection
Lunch and refreshments included
1 Resource pack per school
Please note that the second session of this training programme will take place at the Education Centre, Wilton on 18th May from 0900-1300 hrs, and the final half day of the training will be held on one of the following dates (to suit the delegate):
6th June - St John`s Parish Centre, Trowbridge
7th June - The Diocesan Education Centre, Wilton
15th June - The Dorford Centre, Dorchester
All sessions run 0900-1230hrs
