POSTPONED - Understanding Christianity
This course will be re-scheduled for later in the year
A half day course to provide information about the new RE resource `Understanding Christianity` which has been developed in the light of recent national subject reports on the quality of teaching and learning in RE. This resource and the training that accompanies it for schools is being rolled out across the country and we are encouraging its use within our diocese. The approach introduces pupils to core Christian concepts which they explore in depth, making links to the Biblical meta narrative.
The aim of this half day course will be to outline the structure of the resource and the thinking behind it, sample some activities and consider how clergy and parishes can best support schools as they explore this aspect of RE teaching and learning.
Verity is Diocesan Adviser for RE, Collective Worship and Spirituality.
