DBE courses postponed
The DBE has made the decision to postpone all courses this term and have let all those who are booked on to them know:
"We have done this because, in the context of the current coronavirus outbreak, we recognise that schools and their leaders are under significant pressure and stretch, for example in relation to the impact of staff absence and additional demands on time. We believe that it is right that we live out our Christian values, and are doing all we can to reduce this pressure.
"As you may know, schools have been informed that there will be no SIAMS inspections or Ofsted inspections.
"We will review government and Church of England Education Office advice and make a decision about courses planned for the summer term over the next few days and will be in touch with schools in due course."
The main Schools page and CPD page reads:
"Whilst all courses are currently postponed, the Diocesan Board of Education is working hard to identify the best ways of supporting schools and parishes over the coming months. The office remains open and we will be writing to school leaders and posting here on the website new virtual ways of working to support you."
