How to fulfil your role
The material for this course has been adapted from the National Safeguarding Team and is essential training for all Parish Safeguarding Officers and Church Safeguarding Officers (Channel Islands). It is suitable for anyone who is new to the role, or would like a refresher about the key working practices and policies.
Here are the course outcomes:
• Understand the role, responsibilities and working relationships of the PSO, including the Local Authority.
• Identify a variety of approaches to raising awareness and improving safeguarding practice.
• Evaluate safeguarding information reported by members of the church or community and determining an appropriate response.
• Consider any next steps within their context.
