PSA SUBSCRIPTION COURSE: School Leaders New to Church Schools Session 4 (second year in post) 18/06/20

The course content will include:
• SESSION 4 - – Deeply Christian distinctiveness into effectiveness – how do I as the Headteacher enable SIAMS to have transformational impact on my school? Reviewing and developing a whole school understanding of spirituality - what does it mean to be a spiritual leader. (Half a day in a Church School, venue TBC)
• This session will take place in a Church school (two venues, simultaneously across the diocese to provide a choice for attendees).
• The focus of the visit will be tailored to the interests of school leaders attending, but is likely to cover collective worship, a meeting with governors, school learning walk and the opportunity to look at RE books.
To enable school leaders new in post to have a confident knowledge and understanding of what it means to be the leader of a Church school:
• to have gathered practical ideas for generating distinctive Christian vision and to have had the opportunity to see this ‘lived out’ in practice
• to understand how to build the link between distinctiveness and effectiveness and see how a school’s ethos can enhance outcomes
• to be able to use the SIAMS schedule and inspection as part of this process of transformation
