Listening to and Involving Children and Young People - PARISH VOLUNTEER BOOKINGS
Jesus called the children to him and said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these’. Luke 18:16
The Influence and Voice of Children and Young People
And Paul says to Timothy, ‘Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity’. 1Timothy 4:12
A day to explore how we as the church can let the children come to Jesus and not hinder them in this, and not look down on young people but fully include them as members of our church by giving them opportunities to influence decision making, use and develop their gifts and encourage others of all ages. We will also consider how we hear the voice of young people in our wider communities and seek to meet their needs and advocate with and for them.
The intended outcome is to understand the importance for all of listening to and fully involving children and young people in the life of the church. To have practical ideas to use in your own settings.
This is an afternoon session, starting at 1300hrs. Delegates are welcome to arrive from 1230hrs, bringing their own lunch. Refreshments (drinks) will be provided.
OM, LM, LPA, LWL other (clergy) - book through Church House please as FREE training
