Hospitality: Growing Church in villages by improving your accessibility

M4M

M4M
Do you say ‘…well if we had a toilet or a kitchen, that would be a start..!’ How do we reach out into our community through hospitality when we don’t have the practical resources in our churches?

This course will explore …
• Examples from churches that have succeeded in upgrading their church facilities e.g. the Bourne Valley, with the opportunity to go and visit these churches in the afternoon
• Practical updates on what needs to be done to prepare a faculty with up to date information that’s hot off the press
• Helpful ideas of ways to be hospitable using what we have got. ie Pop up picnic (or church) Pimms and hymns and similar. Bring ideas that you can share as examples of outreach and hospitality that has brought the community together simply and easily
• Building on success, and planning to ‘keep going’ with community opportunities. No hit and run!!

Alan is Archdeacon of Sarum. Peter is Priest in Charge of the Bourne Valley Benefice.
