Headteachers new to Church Schools - FREE to attend for PSA subscribed schools. SESSION 1 28/02/2018 (Half Day session)
A training and support programme for all Headteachers new to post (in the first 2 years of their headship). FREE to attend for PSA subscribed schools.
The New Headteacher Day is offered as part of the PSA Subscription Entitlement. It is a programme designed to offer training and support for all Headteachers new to post (in the first 2 years of their headship) and is FREE to attend for all PSA subscribed schools. It is an opportunity to work with other new church school heads across TWO sessions, and explore how your distinctiveness leads to transformational effectiveness.
Please note that Headteachers taking up headship later in the academic year (e.g. Easter 2018) will be able to attend DAY 2 (on 11th July 2018) without attending this first session.
The course will look at:
Reviewing and developing vision and values – how do I take my whole school with me?
Distinctiveness into effectiveness – what does it really mean to be a Church school?
SIAMS inspection – how do I as the Headteacher enable this to have transformational impact on my school?
Headship is like spinning plates – how do I prioritise?
The second day of the course on 11th July 2018 will also engage with areas of need identified by the attendees on the first day.
The intended outcomes are to enable Headteachers new to post in Church schools to have a confident knowledge and understanding of what it means to be Headteacher of a Church school:
To have gathered practical ideas for generating distinctive vision
To understand how to build the link between distinctiveness and effectiveness
To be able to use SIAMS inspection as part of this process of transformation
To have a tool for prioritising these activities
