Baptism Preparation

In recent years baptism has become more and more an occasion for a celebration of family and friends, often akin to a wedding and sometimes instead of the wedding! How families are welcomed and taught is absolutely vital and the pastoral work surrounding this ritual can be delicate, is often surprising and always rewarding. Through this session we will share good practice, look at some of the theological issues and think about how to nurture the tentative steps made by some families.

Jenny is School Chaplain at Salisbury Cathedral School, Associate Priest at St Thomas’s Salisbury and Associate Priest in the Chalke Valley where she is now a Team Vicar. Among other things she has responsibility for the Chalke Valley LPAs.
