Praying With Scripture
Resources to help you deepen your discipleship by making Scripture an integral part of your prayer life
These resources have been collated by Diocesan Discipleship Co-ordinator, Debbie Orriss, to follow up on the Praying Together Lent initiative where many people found it helpful to have a portion of the Bible to think about, pray through, and respond to.
These Bible reading resources come from a range of publishers, written to help children, young people and adults meet with God and grow in faith. Each day’s content includes a small section of the Bible, some reflection, and a prayer or thought to apply to daily life.
The Praying with Scripture portable display is now available from Church House. It fits into an A4-sized box and contains samples of Bible reading resources to help children, young people and adults build reading the Bible into their prayer lives. There is also a list of online Bible resources.
Gillian Clarke recently borrowed the resource:
"We used the portable display 'Praying with Scripture' at our Deanery Synod recently....Debbie made arrangements for getting the box (which even included a cloth for the table and small display stands for the books) brought to our area from Salisbury. People found it helpful to see samples of books and the sheet Debbie prepared for people to take away - giving web references etc - provided a useful resource. Another idea for getting people talking and sharing ideas about enabling and encouraging disciples to grow!"
Email or ring 01722 411944 if you’d like to borrow it.
