Yes, world would be much better with no wars. No wars, thank God, in heaven. We do need to remember, however, to protect the vulnerable. Coalition Armies may be seen as a sort of international police force, when used authentically, to protect the weak eg in Bosnia, Sierra Leone, the Second World War.

Previously Queen Elizabeth’s School in Wimborne wrote: Do you think there are absolute moral principles? Absolutely...In the car to the Branksome station after your assembly this morning, I heard BBC Radio 4. I think it was The Moral Maze. Matthew Parris, Times journalist, was denying absolute moral principles, but it seems to me that he would have to grant that incest and murder and child abuse are principles in most cultures. God gives us guidelines in his scriptures and especially in the life of Christ, how best to live - the Maker's instructions - and these are helpful.

Greatly looking forward to being with you at Queen Elizabeth School, Wimborne Minster, tomorrow in person for assembly and then online with the A Level Religious and Philosophy class from 10.05am. I will be replying to your questions from my iPad on a train to London: so some replies may be intermittent, depending on coverage. Bishop Graham

If you are bright enough, yes go for it. if offered a place at Uni, I would encourage you to accept it. Education is worth investing in, and there are grants for students from poorer families.

On behalf of the group, thanks very much for your time and answers, which have given us plenty of ideas for further discussion. good luck with the rest of your journey. Richard Foyle and five A level students. Thanks to you, Richard, and to you, the students. Really enjoyed your questions. Keep an eye on the web site to see other schools interact in this way.  BTW, the video clip and photos of South Sudan I showed at your assembly this morning are on: http://www.salisbury.anglican.org/news/bishop-inspired-by-visit-to-south-sudan

In the C of E women are priests and I hope soon there will be women bishops. Previously St Laurence School Bradford on Avon wrote: The Land of Nod where Cain goes is also where we can go to sleep.  What is the connection and where is the Land of Nod?   Thanks. Intriguing question. I had to look it up on wikipedia , which says - amongst other things: The Land of Nod also refers to the mythical land of sleep, a pun on Land of Nod (Gen. 4:16) [1] . To “go off to the land of Nod,” or to “nod off,” is to go to sleep. The first recorded use of the phrase to mean "sleep" comes from Jonathan Swift in his Complete Collection of Polite and Ingenious Conversation (1737) Wikipedia is 10 years old this year. Not everything is accurate on it, but it is becoming more trustworthy. I saw a cartoon recently of one person mentioning Wikipedia was founded in 2001. The other person asked: can you be sure about that?
